TMJ Braces Therapy
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome or TMJ joint disorder are medical tribulations related to the
jaw joint. The TMJ connects the lower jaw to the skull beneath your ear. Certain facial muscles
control the chewing. Problems in that area can lead to severe head and neck pain.

It is true, that most TMJ dysfunction patients have deep bites. The deep bite forces the jaw joints
backward into the ears at any time the patient swallows or eats.
Many cases improve when the deep bite is corrected.

TMJ braces usually involves wearing a plastic positioning appliance to hold the jaw joint in place
while segments of the teeth are moved into the final positions. Patients with the TMJ syndrome are
guided to find a bite that is harmonious with both jaw joints. Bite correction plates are used to
create different bites until the best position is found.
